About the Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 08 Overview The M&A Wire Writer will work closely with New York team to produce business related news stories as part of our proprietary service. This role will be responsible for tracking news, and developing stories that will need to be written and added to our content management system. The researcher will use wire services, data services, individual publications, analyst reports, research papers as well as social media sites and other proprietary tools to locate relevant stories for The Deal’s audience of dealmakers. The candidate will need to harvest and manipulate The Deal’s existing news and data records on M&A transactions to form narratives around rumors and news to add value to web-curated content. The candidate will be responsible for producing quick, concise, clear and accurate articles in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Monitor all media to locate keyword-centric articles Analyse articles, comprehend their meaning and convey findings accurately into the content management system, adding appropriate links. Build out rumors into short stories/briefs using The Deal’s database for background 5 – 10 300-word stories per day Ensure articles are well written and accurate and link back to Deal content General Requirements/Experience Required Degree in either English / English Literature / Journalism Knowledge of business and some stock market knowledge Strong written and oral English communication skills Pro-active individual with the ability to work independently Quick learner Team player with a positive attitude Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to analyse data Experience in accessing the internet and using social media sites Keen to learn and develop potential within a changing work environment Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft office package About S&P Global Market Intelligence At S&P Global Market Intelligence, a division of S&P Global we understand the importance of accurate, deep and insightful information.
