Job Description
SUMMARY Works as an operator in the process, maintains quality standards and ensures continuous improvement of the total packaging operation: palletizers, strappers, AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), wrappers and dunnage sorter. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Part of the packaging team members as an operator. Working in a safe manner and identifies and corrects unsafe work practices. Ensures plant quality standards are being met and maintained. Runs a packaging machine or machines using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface. Evaluates and improves skill level over time Troubleshoots and performs adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions. Assists with new machine setups. Performs preventive maintenance. Effectively communicates issues to the shift supervisor, and team members. Attends and participates in Packaging Team daily meetings. Ensures the department maintains a clean work environment.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job is performed near moving mechanical parts, requiring safety glasses to be worn. The noise level is loud, requiring hearing protection to be worn. Good Manufacturing Practices are observed in all areas of the plant. Pay Range The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $21.75/hr; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $21.75/hr and $25.20/hr. The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting.
