Standard Job Description Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 4 Software Systems Engineer to lead the design and implementation of the advanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) solutions. The role involves applying rigorous systems engineering and reliable and secured networking techniques, ensuring compliance with industry standard development assurance guidelines, and delivering high reliability navigation capabilities for our commercial customers. Wide Area Network (WAN) Subsystem Network Engineering and Verification Support – Develop and execute network design, cybersecurity requirements, and implementation plans for GNSS/SBAS hardware and software. Requirements impact assessment (primarily security related), working with implementation team to support design/solutioning, updated subsystem verification plan, develop verification procedures / scripts, perform verification, work with team to document defects, incorporate fixes, regression test and complete verification, on-site install, support to system I&T and V&V activities. Cross Disciplinary Coordination – Work closely with software, hardware, RF, electrical, and mission operations teams to resolve integration issues. Mentorship & Expertise – Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and serve as a subject matter expert on GNSS/SBAS technologies. Stakeholder Interaction – Communicate status, risks, and technical findings to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications Support a small team of Network and SIEM designers Terrestrial and satellite LAN and WAN experience Hands-on implementation experience with high reliability / high availability 24/7 comms platform Cisco Router, Switch and Firewall implementation experience or equivalent Requirements verification and Test planning (V&V), test procedure development and execution in front of customer witnesses. Travel to Au and NZ sites. 25% Support installations in various rural ANZ locations at odd, off-shift, hours Strong Cyber security knowledge – Design for security, hardening, etc AAA LDAP implementation – Radius implementation experience is a plus Cyber Vulnerability assessment, check out and deployment of patches to the field Able to troubleshoot and restore services Able to communicate in written and verbal form in a virtual, global team Strong on Documentation such as subsystem network design documents, test plans, maintenance procedures, etc. Desired Skills Deployment in an air-gapped architecture Radius AAA on Cisco devices Implementation or knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) on Elastic Stack Enterprise Cisco Certified Qualifications (e.g. CCNA) Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
