The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified IT Solution Architect for Procurement Systems to spearhead the transformation of our procurement technology landscape. The successful candidate will be accountable for identifying and mapping IT capabilities, establishing technical roadmaps, and providing expert alignment and support to Enterprise Architecture and Service Owners through vendor engagement and market trend analysis. A significant aspect of this role involves advancing IT capabilities in line with business requirements as defined by Global Supply Management (GSM). This role demands strong leadership skills to direct a team of seasoned SAP Senior Analysts responsible for delivering project solutions and minor enhancements. The team is complemented by external partners and consultants who contribute to solution delivery and support within a DevOps framework. The selected candidate will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for leading the design, delivery, and support processes, ensuring achievement of objectives and adherence to compliance standards. Key Responsibilities:
Strategically align long-term procurement system initiatives with the broader IT procurement landscape, drawing on industry’s best practices and emerging trends. Serve as an internal consultant to business procurement teams, advising them on strategies for advanced procurement capabilities both within and beyond SAP, such as Intake or Supplier Data Management. Lead a team of IT procurement internal and external experts to execute the architectural design, enhance and support the solution to Corning’s and industry standards. Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive roadmap for procurement systems to ensure scalability, efficiency, sustainability, and innovation. Identify and recommend opportunities for enhancement within procurement technologies and processes, emphasizing business value through advanced process mining tools such as SAP Signavio. Coordinate project planning with the IT PMO regarding the transition of end-of-life systems, aiming for minimal disruption and the smooth deployment of new solutions. Collaborate with Service and Product Owners and Engagement Managers in a technical consultant capacity, serving as a liaison between software vendors and internal IT teams. Build a lively network with subject matter experts outside of Corning. Advocate for the adoption of innovative technologies and best practices across procurement and
