Ready to Power a Smarter World with us? The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary link between production, planning, purchasing, warehousing, and logistics to resolve short-term material shortages, proactively address mid-term supply risks, and drive strategic initiatives that improve material flow and prevent recurring disruptions. Success in this position is measured by production continuity, material availability, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery performance, and the successful implementation of corrective actions that eliminate chronic supply chain challenges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Expedite critical material shortages that threaten production schedules. Monitor and communicate material constraints to manufacturing, planning, and purchasing teams. Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, and logistics providers to accelerate deliveries and resolve shipment issues. Analyze production priorities and ensure materials are available to support daily manufacturing requirements. Support inventory transactions, material movement, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives. Escalate supply chain issues and provide timely status updates to stakeholders. Review upcoming demand, supplier commitments, and inventory positions to identify potential shortages. Lead regular material risk reviews with planning, procurement, and operations teams. Develop recovery plans for material gaps and supply interruptions. Maintain and monitor shortage reports, critical part lists, and inventory health metrics. Identify recurring material supply issues and lead root cause analysis efforts. Develop and implement corrective actions to eliminate chronic shortages and expedite activity. Drive continuous improvement projects focused on inventory management, material flow, planning accuracy, and supplier performance. Support implementation of lean manufacturing and materials management best practices. Recommend process improvements that increase supply chain resilience and reduce operational risk. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve forecasting, planning, and inventory control procedures. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to Monitor Production line downtime due to material shortages Number of expedited orders Inventory accuracy On-time supplier delivery performance Material shortage aging Past due purchase orders Inventory turns Corrective actions implemented for recurring issues Supply chain cost avoidance and process improvements Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 2 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, production planning, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) skills. Experience supporting material flow in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline. APICS CPIM or CSCP certification. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience. 3 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, production planning, inventory control, or manufacturing operations. Experience with inventory planning, shortage management, and supplier performance management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Understanding of material planning, purchasing, inventory control, and manufacturing processes. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive issue resolution.
