The Role

The Body Controls Calibration and System Testing Team is rapidly growing and is being transformed due to the adoption of software defined architecture. In Body electronics system test space, we calibrate and validate different customer facing features in functional areas like Exterior and Interior Lighting, Vehicle Access, occupant Protection, Cabin Comfort, etc. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in future technologies GM is introducing in Body Electronics/Mechatronics space. What you will gain from this experience: Troubleshoot and resolve anomalies, driving continuous improvement in system robustness. Learn from decades of combined embedded development expertise in a highly collaborative environment. Interact with and work on the future of automotive technology Required Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Eligible to work full-time hours, 40 hours a week for a term of 12- 16 months (consecutive semesters) starting January 2027 Preferred Qualifications:  Candidate demonstrates a high degree of ownership and initiative for their work, and strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira Knowledge of embedded software development using C/Matlab/Simulink Valid Ontario G Driver License AutoDrive, EcoCAR, or other Automotive related experience/clubs. Proficiency in Embedded C NOTE- YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN A CO-OP PROGRAM AND MEET THE PROGRAM’S ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.  ALL STUDENTS MUST ALSO BE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO WORK IN CANADA. The monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $4784.00. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
