Job Description

Start here. Grow here. At AECOM, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager–Rail Projects to join our team in our Dublin office. The Senior Project Manager–Rail Projects will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of all package activities within a major rail project. This will include the effective management and coordination of key stakeholders and project partners throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, including design, planning, procurement, construction, and operations. The role will be instrumental in ensuring that project deliverables are aligned with the programme’s operational integration objectives, while maintaining compliance with established safety standards and project requirements. Here’s what you’ll do: Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of project activities throughout the full lifecycle of a major rail project, from concept development through to completion and operational readiness. Develop and maintain project scope, budgets, programmes, schedules, milestones, and delivery plans. Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other technical and construction specialists to support successful project delivery. Monitor project performance and progress against agreed scope, programme, cost, quality, and performance objectives, taking corrective action where required. Ensure all project activities comply with applicable health and safety legislation, standards, building regulations, project requirements, and relevant industry codes. Prepare, review, and present regular project progress reports, highlighting key achievements, risks, issues, dependencies, and required actions for stakeholders. Proactively identify, manage, and resolve project issues, risks, constraints, and delays to maintain programme and delivery objectives. Conduct and support site inspections, quality assurance activities, and compliance checks to ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements. Coordinate and participate in meetings between multidisciplinary project teams to maintain alignment on programme, deliverables, interfaces, dependencies, and key integration points. Support the review and management of interfacing contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are aligned with the overall objectives, scope, and requirements of the relevant project package. Manage the delivery of individual contracts within the wider programme, monitoring, tracking, and reporting on expenditure, programme, milestones, change, risks, and quality. Contribute to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with operational railway interfaces and integration activities.
