Position
Overview This position is responsible for budget management, expense management, lifecycle cost management, and tenant utility billing management for data center facilities. You will be at the forefront of finance supporting mission-critical infrastructure. The data center industry continues to experience rapid growth and is an essential social infrastructure supporting cloud computing, AI, and digital transformation. Your finance expertise will directly contribute to the efficient operations and sustainable growth of facilities supporting cutting-edge technology. This position realizes business competitiveness enhancement and environmental impact reduction through involvement in strategic decision-making, cost optimization, and energy efficiency improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Management & Planning Develop and forecast annual budgets (¥500M to ¥2B scale) Develop management models for capital investments, operating expenses, and long-term investments Monitor budget performance, conduct variance analysis, and propose corrective actions Develop multi-year finance plans Cost Management & Optimization Analyze operating expenses (electricity, utilities, cooling, maintenance, labor costs, etc.) Identify cost reduction opportunities through efficiency improvements and vendor negotiations Evaluate finance efficiency through tracking operational metrics such as PUE Measure, aggregate, and create invoices for tenant utility costs Finance Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports Develop and track KPIs for TCO management and benchmarking Support decision-making through finance trend and risk analysis Finance Reporting & Analysis Manage CAPEX/OPEX approval workflows Early identification and mitigation of budget overrun risks Create, manage, negotiate, and review invoices for facilities maintenance contracts Administrative & Soft Service Management Manage ordering and budgets for consumables, tools, and disaster preparedness supplies Supervise cleaning and non-critical equipment maintenance Support engineering teams Required Qualifications 5+ years of practical experience in finance management/analysis 3+ years of experience in data centers, facilities management, or real estate industry preferred Experience managing medium to large-scale budgets (¥500M+) Skills Report creation and data analysis using Power Query / Power BI (required) Workflow automation using Power Automate (preferred) Advanced finance analysis using Excel Business-level English proficiency Core Competencies Analytical and problem-solving abilities Communication and presentation skills Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Work Environment Primarily based at data center facilities (including office work) Extended hours may be required during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods Hybrid work arrangements available Location: On-site –Tokyo, Japan If this job description resonates with you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all of the requirements.
