MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: The counterparty team are seeking a proactive individual to join the team to assist with their day-to-day operations. The role involves engaging with senior stakeholders to implement and manage the priorities of the business, from a counterparty onboarding perspective, alongside driving progress in BAU tasks. Candidates should have a strong interest in the area, with an understanding of how the industry operates. The counterparty onboarding role involves daily interaction with external financial institutions, acting as a first point of contact and representative for Brevan Howard, they therefore will need to have excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. The selected individual will need to be adaptable with an eagerness to learn. Candidates should possess unwavering attention to detail, an excellent level of literacy and numeracy with the ability to remain calm and confident under pressure. Candidates need to have strong time and task management skills with the ability to react swiftly to the fast and ever-changing environment the business operates within. Candidates should feel comfortable managing multiple lines of communication, working with multiple counterparties concurrently under time pressure to set up accounts and trading facilities. Serving as a visible, approachable and accountable contact point within the business for counterparty onboarding is central to this role. This role will develop as the needs of the business. As such, we expect the candidate to be flexible and open to change, with the current responsibilities envisaged as below: KYC Being a first point of contact for KYC enquires relating to current onboardings, as well as refreshes to maintain Brevan Howard’s active accounts. Sharing constitutional / financial documents with counterparts where appropriate Monitoring and Maintaining Brevan’s KYC Portal Answering counterparty questionnaires and queries Liaising with internal departments to escalate more complex queries Obtaining KYC from Counterparties and ensuring internal records are up to date Onboarding Assisting in the day to day life cycle of counterparty on boarding across multiple asset classes Tracking and monitoring new counterparties / new products for existing counterparties via workflow software Sending out on boarding requirements – high level reviewing and passing these on the relevant departments Liaising with internally risk / compliance / legal and Middle office teams to get the counterparts in place (includes; chasers, reviews, risk and compliance approvals) Liaising externally with Front/ middle /back office functions Monitoring inbound communications to the counterparties team – answering BAU queries and liaising with relevant department where appropriate Updating internal stakeholders Participating in catch-up meeting to review all on-going enquiries Operating compliance and middleware platforms Skills Excellent written and oral communication Teamworking Proven history in problem solving Experience in task management / prioritization Excellent MS Office skills, (Outlook, Excel, Word) Prior experience in FIA and OSTTRA platforms, a plus WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND. BUSINESS SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential Proficiency in Microsoft Applications Confident communicator Ability to perform well under pressure, adaptable Inquisitive nature, attention to detail and a positive attitude Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work effectively in an entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment Strong analytical, organisational and administrative skills Desirable 2:1 Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent 3 years relevant work experience. Experience in Investor Relations, Investment Banking, Sales & Trading or Investment Management roles is desirable. Prior experience in onboarding or adjacent role
