Job Description

As a Associate Project Manager within AECOM’s Oxford Project Management Team, you will be responsible for leading and managing medium to large-scale built environment and construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring their successful delivery while continuing to develop your specialised knowledge. Your role will involve overseeing significant phases of projects, guiding junior team members, and fostering client and consultant relationships. Additionally, you will support business development activities and contribute to AECOM's team and organisational growth. You will join our Oxford Project Management team, which forms a key part of our Social Infrastructure global market sector. In collaboration with our London team we have delivered or are currently delivering for our clients the following projects: BP Pangbourne United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority University of Oxford University of Warwick Coventry University Oxford University Hospitals National Satellite Testing Facility (Harwell) We are looking for someone who brings energy and insight, ideally with consultancy experience or a background working within Health, Science and or Education client sector organisations. Depending on the specific requirements of each project, the role may require you to be based on site- and you will need to be prepared to travel to project locations within Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.

Skills & Experience

Substantial experience and technical knowledge in project management within the built environment or construction industry. Experience managing projects with minimal supervision – self-directed and experienced in project delivery. Demonstrate leadership potential and client relationship expertise. Passionate about delivering high-quality consulting services, and comfortable in the role of consultant. Able to manage more junior resources on projects. Contribute to the development of our best-practice approach to project management. Experience contributing to work winning efforts and bidding. Strong project management capability, including programme, cost, risk, change and stakeholder management. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams within a client-side, consultancy or contractor environment. Knowledge of NEC contracts and construction procurement processes. Understanding of CDM Regulations, health & safety obligations, Building Regulations and construction governance. Experience working within regulated, safety-critical or complex technical environments. Knowledge of BIM, sustainability and quality assurance principles within the built environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining focus on safety, quality, cost and schedule.
