Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for PCB assembly and electronic products. This position requires strong experience with SMT programming, PCB manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: Manufacturing & Process Engineering • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for PCB assemblies and electronic products. • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process development and production readiness. • Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, setup sheets, and manufacturing documentation. • Analyze production processes and implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and efficiency. • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues. SMT Programming & Electronics Assembly • Create, modify, and optimize SMT programs for placement machines and related equipment. • Support SMT operations including solder paste printing, placement, reflow, AOI, and inspection processes. • Troubleshoot SMT process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve quality. • Monitor and improve SMT line performance, cycle times, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). PCB Manufacturing Support • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Production teams to resolve technical issues. • Support process validation and implementation of engineering changes • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer requirements, and internal quality procedures. Continuous Improvement • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction and process optimization. • Implement and sustain 5S activities throughout the manufacturing environment. • Conduct Value Stream Mapping exercises to identify bottlenecks and improve material flow. • Analyze manufacturing data and KPI metrics to drive performance improvements. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field (required) 3-6 years of relevant experience within an electronics manufacturing environment. Hands-on SMIT programming experience. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S. Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping experience. Strong knowledge of PCB assembly processes and elecronic manufacturing techniques. Knowedge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
