Work safely and adhere to Xylem safety policies and procedures. Analyze facility effluent in accordance with EPA testing methods and Evoqua SOPs. Enter result into databases and report results to the appropriate personnel. Perform sampling, testing and acceptance of client waste deliveries in accordance with SOPs. Enter information into computer database and tag waste in compliance with RCRA Part B Permit. Provide notification if a discrepancy is identified. Operate laboratory instruments; maintain instrument calibration to assure accurate test results. Conduct wet chemical analysis in accordance with Xylem SOPs. Conduct ion exchange and other testing using current SOPs. Make and standardize laboratory reagents solutions as needed and assure lab supplies are in stock and ordered as needed. Conduct lab safety meetings when directed and maintain appropriate housekeeping standards. Minimum of an AA or equivalent in chemistry, environmental science or chemical engineering. One year equivalent in industrial, inorganic analytical testing experience. Knowledge of analytical chemistry specifically related to metals, cyanides and toxics. Work in environment in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, toxic-inorganic waste streams, fumes, odors, etc. Must be able to initiate and exit the plant within one minute. Must be able to respond to and distinguish between audible alarms. Must be able to work in hot conditions for extended periods. Must be able to wear a hardhat, face shield, safety glasses, earplugs, respirator and other required PPE. Able to traverse the building and grounds.
