A Day in the Life Support the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise monitoring and observability solutions for digital manufacturing systems. Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities that enhance system reliability, operational visibility, and uptime across manufacturing sites and distribution centers. Partner with DevOps, engineering, and operations teams to embed observability into deployment pipelines and establish consistent monitoring standards. Use telemetry and performance analytics to proactively detect issues, optimize system performance, support capacity planning, and drive continuous improvement across OT/IT environments. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Lead and support the implementation, and sustainment of Digital Transformation Monitoring—including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting—to improve reliability, uptime, and operational visibility. Provide proactive detection of performance degradation, failures, and anomalies across applications, data pipelines, and OT/IT interfaces. Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and operations teams to embed observability requirements into deployment pipelines. Develop and maintain monitoring governance standards to ensure consistency across mfg. sites and DC’s (Distribution Centers). Performs quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper usage of data in tables and various support tools, such as database dictionaries. Reviews database design and integration of systems, including client/servers, mainframes, etc., and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Enforce policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Prepares and/or reviews activity, progress, and performance reports. Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, overall 7+years IT experience and minimum 3-5 years of experience in supporting enterprise monitoring, observability, platform operations, or related technology functions. Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise monitoring and observability solutions, including logging, metrics, alerting, dashboarding, and distributed tracing. Experience supporting cloud platforms, enterprise applications, infrastructure, data platforms, or integrated Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) environments. Experience analyzing system performance data, troubleshooting production issues, and using telemetry and analytics to drive operational improvements and system reliability. Experience collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to implement monitoring standards, observability practices, and operational governance across enterprise environments.
Nice to Have
Skills: Hands-on experience with enterprise observability platforms such as Dynatrace, SolarWinds, CloudWatch, or comparable tools, including logging, distributed tracing, anomaly detection, event correlation, and AIOps. Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices, including AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, containers, serverless technologies, CI/CD, DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, and automated deployments. Experience monitoring databases, APIs, integrations, messaging and streaming platforms, and distributed applications, including technologies such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, and MQTT.
