About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Banking Analyst to support the Energy & Power Portfolio Management team within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank. The candidate will be focused on supporting the relationship management, credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring of Wells Fargo’s energy and power portfolio in the Americas. In this role, you will: Support monitoring portfolio credit quality for new and existing credits, including identification of key risk factors, under the direction of the Associate or Portfolio Manager. Build and maintain financial projection models for new and existing credits, including sensitivity and downside cases, and check model outputs for accuracy. Prepare first drafts of credit approval documents and supporting exhibits, including due diligence, risk analysis, risk rating, underwriting, return analysis and business case materials, for review by the Associate and Portfolio Manager. Compile due diligence materials and prepare summaries. Support engagement with Independent Risk Management and legal counsel by preparing requested analysis, comparisons and follow-up materials, including supporting the review of documentation. Coordinate with product partners when applicable. Provide ongoing portfolio maintenance / management post-close, building strong working relationships with back- and middle-office teams and coordinating day-to-day operational activity (including draws and Letter of Credit issuances) to manage the portfolio effectively. Review and interpret credit policies and procedures and incorporate requirements into credit analysis and lending recommendations. Help the team’s Senior Relationship and Portfolio Managers prepare credit papers and internal presentations of transactions to the Bank’s key stakeholders, senior management and credit approvers. Support the team’s relationship management and business development efforts, including preparation of client and prospect materials, screening analyses and return analysis for new opportunities. Prepare and maintain recurring management reporting and support the accuracy of that reporting. Escalate identified issues, covenant and reporting exceptions, and data discrepancies on a timely basis. Collaborate and consult with peers, internal partners and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
6+ months of Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 6+ months of Corporate Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Geoscience, Engineering or similar) from a four-year accredited college or university Understanding of corporate finance principles and capital structuring issues Aptitude in Excel-based financial modeling, with specific experience in discounted cash flow modeling Strong analytical, credit and accounting skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Prior investment banking or capital markets experience is a plus Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced and complex environment Demonstrated excellence in working effectively as an individual and as part of a team
