About this role
American Honda Finance Corporation is currently seeking an Assistant Manager of Modeling for our Technical Accounting & Modeling division. This position Leads the Modeling Teams in establishing and governing Credit Loss Allowances and Residual Value Loss Reserves, per USGAAP and IFRS accounting standards under internal SOX controls, providing oversight of modeling methodologies, assumptions, and reserve analyses; communicates results and trends to management, Japan staff, auditors, and executive committees; and delivers analytical support for financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Key Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to
• Provide guidance to direct reports on modeling inputs and outputs which result in a reserve that are appropriate for the Company
• Continuous improvement of modeling methodologies and processing of inputs.
• Development and Cross Training of associates in the department
• Review and approve direct reports' Journal Entries, Reconciliations, Footnotes
• General Ledger Analytics - Approve monthly analytics for Balance Sheet and Income Statement Accounts.
• Project Support as needed
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Education Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related business field required.
• Preferred certifications: CFA, CPA, CMA, MBA
Minimum Experience
• 3-Years Supervisory Experience
• 5-Years in Analysis and/or Forecasting of Credit Losses or Consumer Finance Receivables
• 5-Years in Analysis and/or Forecasting of Residual Values or Lease End-of-Term Performance
• Accounting Background Preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, PowerPoint) ERP systems (SAP, Business Objects, Oracle).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SAS) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
Other Job Specific Skills
• Progressively develop and refine new forms of data analytics to capture potential risks, track and identify trends, and communicate effectively to management, credit loss committees, and cross-functional teams.
