You will own the day-to-day operation of the lab and ensure that devices, test stands, supporting infrastructure, and test environments remain available and reliable. The role combines hands-on hardware work with device provisioning, troubleshooting, lab infrastructure support, automation, and coordination with engineering teams. Key job responsibilities - Operate and maintain the Cambridge Ring and Blink test lab, keeping devices and test environments reliably available. - Assemble, install, configure, and maintain mobile-device and Ring/Blink product test stands. - Provision Android and iOS devices: OS configuration, software installation, setup, and recovery. - Onboard new Ring and Blink product families, including stand assembly, device flashing, provisioning, configuration, and connectivity setup. - Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi, USB, power, and connectivity issues affecting lab equipment and automated testing; recover failed devices and stands and run root-cause investigation for recurring issues. - Install, replace, and maintain lab hardware: phones, embedded devices, Mac systems, test controllers, networking equipment, cables, and relays. - Develop and maintain scripts and lightweight automation for provisioning, health checks, recovery, monitoring, and device configuration. - Monitor lab health and improve reliability, utilisation, maintainability, and operational efficiency. - Coordinate hardware installations, device shipments, inventory, purchasing, and asset lifecycle management. - Maintain documentation for lab configuration, operating procedures, device onboarding, troubleshooting, and recovery. - Work with SDETs, software engineers, product, IT/networking teams, facilities, and suppliers to resolve lab issues and support lab expansion. - Follow applicable lab health, safety, security, and equipment-handling requirements.
