The SESA Engineer is responsible for coordinating and supporting the Engineering Program Manager (SESA) in managing the Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance (SESA) deliverables across six (6) subsystems that Honeywell has been contracted to deliver as part of a major project. The 6 subsystems are – Building Management Control System (BMCS), fire detection system (FDS), closed circuit television (CCTV), electronic access control system (EACS), public address and voice alarm (PAVA) and passenger information display (PIDS). The role is responsible for promoting a risk based subject matter expertise that provides support to every portion of the project team and to the wider Honeywell organisation. This will involve coordinating the input of numerous key internal and external stakeholders ranging from Engineering, Project Management through to customer and head contractor representatives. You will have responsibility over the coordination of SESA activities in collaboration with the Engineering Program Manager (SESA) and other key stakeholders. Where appropriate, you will assist in sourcing and managing of sub-contractors who shall assist in delivering specialist engineering consultancy that are outside of HBS’s expertise to meet any contractual and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Working closely with the Engineering Program Manager (SESA) and the wider project engineering management team, you will assist in finding resolution of SESA deliverables for key clients on the project and leverage your skills in managing multiple streams of work simultaneously. The SESA engineer will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Engineering Program Manager (SESA) in the following key activities:
Support the planning, design, development, tracking and writing of key Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance (SESA) deliverables. Support the management of SESA specific deliverables including requirements management, hazard log management, ADC management, assurance reports, design report integration, human factors integration, RAM integration and other engineering subdisciplines. Working with the Design Package team leads and Subject Matter Expert’s (SME’s) to elicit derived requirements from the various stakeholders. Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the review of design and construction changes that have a SESA impact Ability to identify and manage safety changes instigated by other significant contractors and clients Manage the configuration of the Honeywell requirements management database for SESA activities and deliverables Support the development and evidence gathering for design, construction, installation and testing activities during the project scope Support the ongoing review and integration of required contracted management plans Support and coordinate workshops and tracking of deliverables Support and advise on all SESA deliverables through the entire project lifecycle (planning, design, construction, testing, commissioning, handing over to operations and maintenance)
Key Experience & Capabilities
Degree qualifications in Engineering, System Safety, Risk, Safety Assurance and/or Safety, or a related discipline from an Australian University or equivalent. Cert IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
