Job Summary EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in Middle River, MD. The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR Site Supervisor and support him/her to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position is to be responsible for the general facility maintenance needs at the facility and performing general maintenance and inspections of equipment/systems as required. Knowledge of and capable of performing basic carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical & HVAC repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Communicates effectively with the Site Supervisor to determine service needs. Coordinates and supervise client sub-contractors while performing service on site. Repairs of walls, floors, doors, ceilings, furniture and any painting and touch up work for beautification of facility internally & externally. Plumbing skills with the ability to repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related services. Maintain a strict PM schedule – Examples: Inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, perimeter fence trash pick-up, building interior/exterior inspections, eye wash stations, etc. Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests. Must have basic electrical, carpentry and HVAC skills and the mechanical ability to make minor repairs related to those skills. Inspection/evaluations which may include measurements of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures or vibration; and features such as wear, replacement of expendables (i.e. belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.). Assist other skilled/trades employees to perform projects as requested. Qualifications Education (HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.) HS Diploma Business Experience (prior years work/related experience) 3-5 years of experience related to facility maintenance. Licenses/Certifications Valid US driver’s license
Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. Technical Qualifications & Skills Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.
