Full-Stack Technical Leadership: Lead the design, development, and support of enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, Microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven integrations Solution Architecture & Design: Define application architecture, integration patterns, technical roadmaps, and design standards to ensure scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and security Technical Governance: Lead code reviews, design reviews, and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality gates across teams Mentorship & Team Leadership: Mentor software engineers, support career development, perform technical onboarding, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation API & Microservices Architecture: Design and optimize scalable RESTful microservices, ensuring robust data integrity and system performance Cloud & DevOps: Deploy containerized applications via Docker into cloud environments (AWS), supporting CI/CD automation Delivery: Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality, productivity, and SDLC efficiency Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications: 10+ years of hands-on software development experience Backend Mastery: 10+ years of solid expertise in Java, Spring boot, Microservices, REST API, Kafka, Maven Database Knowledge: Solid experience with databases (MongoDB, MySQL) and familiarity with caching strategies Experience working with Git, Docker, and standard CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), AWS, GCP Frontend: ReactJS, Angular, HTML/CSS, Java Script AI Awareness & Practical Exposure: Familiarity with the AI SDLC tools Preferred Qualifications: Experience migrating legacy systems to cloud-native microservices architectures Experience working with distributed onshore/offshore teams At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
