AMD is seeking a highly motivated Member of Technical Staff (MTS), Post-Silicon Electrical Validation Engineer to join the Server Compute and Enterprise AI Validation team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating and characterizing high-speed I/O interfaces on AMD Datacenter Server and AI platforms, ensuring robust performance, interoperability, and product quality from silicon bring-up through production release.   You will work closely with architecture, silicon design, signal integrity, package, board, firmware, BIOS, software, and platform teams to develop validation plans, execute test strategies, perform electrical characterization, and debug complex system-level issues. The role offers opportunities to contribute to industry-leading technologies including PCIe, Ethernet, Memory Subsystems, and next-generation AI and server platforms.   THE PERSON:  The ideal candidate is passionate about complex technical challenges, enjoys hands-on lab debugging, and has strong fundamentals in high-speed electrical interfaces and system validation. Validation Strategy & Execution Develop and execute post-silicon validation plans for high-speed I/O interfaces including PCIe, xGMI, UALink, IFoE, UCIe, and memory-related technologies. Define validation requirements, test coverage, and success criteria to ensure platform-level functionality, performance, and reliability. Design and execute electrical characterization, compliance, interoperability, and stress test scenarios across various operating conditions. Validate advanced interface features including link training, equalization, power management, bandwidth scaling, and platform enablement.   Electrical Characterization & Debug Perform hands-on measurements and analysis using oscilloscopes, TDRs, VNAs, protocol analyzers, BERTs, and other advanced lab equipment. Conduct margining experiments, PHY analysis, and electrical characterization to assess interface robustness and optimize system performance. Investigate and debug complex silicon, platform, firmware, BIOS, software, and hardware interactions. Drive root-cause analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and long-term solutions.   Automation & Methodology Development Develop and maintain automation frameworks, test scripts, and regression environments to improve validation efficiency and scalability. Enhance validation methodologies, coverage, and workflows through continuous process improvements. Support data collection, correlation, analysis, and reporting to enable data-driven engineering decisions.   Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with silicon design, architecture, signal integrity, platform engineering, BIOS, firmware, software, and quality teams to drive product readiness. Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to align validation objectives, debug activities, and milestone execution.
