Senior Quality Technician

The Quality Technician supports the quality needs of the Spring Valley operations while carrying out both local and corporate responsibilities. This role partners closely with the Quality Manager to advance business objectives and collaborates with the broader team to ensure all quality-related requirements are met.

Perform Incoming and Final Inspections as necessary Address internal requests to initiate Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) in a timely manner and keep the total number of open NCRs below target. Support the Shop Floor with any Quality related requests. Lead root cause analysis and drive the implementation of mistake proofing to eliminate and preventative actions Complete a “5-Why” for any “Repeat” or “Escape” non-conformance. File and maintain Quality documentation as units are produced. Provide maintained Quality documentation upon request. Analyze existing operations and propose cost justified improvements. Create Certificates of Conformance when needed. Make requested changes to ISO documentation. Support ISO 9001 audit preparation and other various audit preparations. Implement any relevant Quality checks and measures. Mark and tag defective hardware as necessary. Create customer Quality documentation binders when required.

Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees. May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required. May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt. Work surfaces may include concrete. Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.   The estimated pay range for this position is $28/hr.
