About this role
NVIDIA is looking for a System Software Engineer to help build the modeling, validation, and bringup infrastructure that enables next-generation SoC and GPU platforms from early pre-silicon development through post-silicon debug. This role combines low-level platform software development with system-level validation and execution workflows across C-model, emulation, and silicon environments. We are looking for engineers with strong software fundamentals, hands-on debugging skills, and a passion for solving complex platform problems in close coordination with architecture, firmware, modeling, validation, and infrastructure teams. You will help build reusable technical solutions that improve platform quality, debug efficiency, and execution across multiple chip programs.
What you'll be doing
Develop and debug modeling, validation, and bringup infrastructure for SoC and GPU platforms across pre-silicon and silicon environments Implement and maintain low-level platform software and execution flow for system integration, debug, and validation Build and enhance C-model, emulation, and silicon workflows for system execution, issue reproduction, and failure analysis Supply to system-level validation of cross-IP interoperability, memory and data flows, and overall platform behavior Improve regression quality, debug efficiency, and release readiness through practical infrastructure and tooling improvements Support trace replay, platform execution, and root-cause debug across software-based and hardware-assisted environments Investigate complex system-level failures and turn one-off fixes into reusable platform improvements Work closely with system develop, firmware, validation, modeling, emulation, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust technical solutions What we need to see BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 3+ years of relevant experience in system software, platform software, validation infrastructure, silicon bringup, modeling, or related areas Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python Solid understanding of Linux system software, low-level debug, memory-mapped I/O, and hardware-software interaction Hands-on experience building, debugging, or integrating low-level software, validation flows, or test infrastructure in C-model, emulation, or silicon bringup environments Experience debugging system-level issues in areas such as platform initialization, memory management, address translation, interrupts, device interaction, or cross-IP integration Familiarity with validation at the system level, reusable test infrastructure, regression flows, or debug tooling Strong problem-solving skills, learning agility, and the ability to make steady progress on ambiguous technical issues Good collaboration skills across cross-functional teams such as architecture, firmware, design, validation, emulation, modeling, or infrastructure Ways to stand out from the crowd Experience with System C, simulation environments, model integration, trace replay, or related software-based bringup workflows Experience with system-level validation of interoperability, data formats, memory flows, or shared platform behavior Familiarity with pre-silicon and post-silicon debug continuity, including reproducible debug and reusable validation methodology Experience improving regression infrastructure, coverage tracking, release quality, or internal platform tooling used by broader engineering teams Familiarity with memory system architecture or low-level hardware access frameworks
