About you and this role Are you passionate about materials science, sustainability, and innovation? We are looking for an ambitious Master's student (m/f) to join our Packaging & Specialty Plastics Technical Service & Development (TS&D) team at one of our key R&D locations in Tarragona, Spain or Wiesbaden, Germany. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced scientists and engineers to develop next-generation materials and technologies that create value for our customers while contributing to a more sustainable future. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial research while developing technical, analytical, and communication skills. You will contribute to challenging R&D innovation projects focused on polyethylene, polyolefin elastomers, functional ethylene copolymers, recycled materials and compounded products.
Responsibilities
Conduct literature reviews and identify technology opportunities. Develop hypotheses and design experimental plans. Perform laboratory testing and characterize materials. Analyze and interpret experimental data. Present findings and recommendations to technical teams. Contribute to projects with direct business and sustainability impact.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a master's degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field. Available for 6- to 9- months internship starting during the first half of 2027 (exact timing flexible and to be discussed). Good working knowledge of English. Knowledge of Spanish, German, or another European language is a plus. Previous laboratory experience, including materials characterization, physical testing, or polymer processing/extrusion, is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
