Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. System Design Engineer to join the Audio Technology Licensing Engineering Team in China. This role will serve as a key technical interface between Bose engineering teams, customers, and business stakeholders, supporting the evaluation and deployment of Bose licensed audio technologies across a broad range of consumer audio products. The successful candidate will work closely with the FMH System Engineering team, global engineering teams, product management, business development teams, and external customers. The primary focus is to assess customer product designs, platform architectures, Bluetooth and DSP chipset solutions, and overall system implementations to ensure alignment with Bose technical requirements, Sound by Bose standards, and Sound Design Tuning objectives. This position requires a combination of strong system engineering expertise, customer-facing technical leadership, audio product development experience, and the ability to influence technical decisions across diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Product and System Evaluation Evaluate customer product architectures, hardware platforms, Bluetooth SoCs, DSP chipsets, software frameworks, and end-to-end audio system designs. Assess customer technical proposals and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with Bose technology requirements and target audio performance objectives. Conduct feasibility studies, technical risk assessments, competitive benchmarking, and proof-of-concept evaluations. Support technical decision-making related to Sound by Bose and Sound Design Tuning engagements. Technical Leadership and Customer Engagement Serve as the primary engineering contact for customer technical discussions throughout the engagement lifecycle. Lead technical reviews, requirement clarification sessions, design evaluations, and issue-resolution activities with customers and partners. Translate customer requirements into actionable engineering recommendations and system-level solutions. Provide technical guidance to customers on hardware selection, DSP architecture, Bluetooth audio implementation, system optimization, and performance tuning. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the FMH System Engineering team and other global engineering teams to align customer solutions with Bose technology roadmaps and engineering standards. Partner with Product Management and Business Development teams to support customer engagement and licensing opportunities. Collaborate with software, DSP, acoustics, firmware, and platform engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and drive successful product deployment. Ensure regional customer needs and market requirements are effectively represented within global development activities. Product Tuning and Issue Resolution Support audio tuning, system optimization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis activities. Drive technical investigations across hardware, software, DSP, acoustics, and system integration domains. Review performance measurements and validation results to ensure products meet Bose quality and audio performance expectations.
