Analyzes, audits, reconciles and resolves complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing. Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. Researches and interprets federal and state regulatory requirements and resolves tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing. Responds to auditing and regulatory inquiries. May work with system programmers to achieve solutions or administer company payroll system with outside service provider. Manage the company's payroll systems, ensuring payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations. Research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements and resolve tax, withholding, garnishment and wage/hour issues for payroll processing. Collaborate with Benefits, HR, Finance, IT and outside vendors to implement and modifying systems, resolve complex operating problems and to integrate payroll with other business technologies. Serve as business lead for all projects related to payroll systems to ensure projects like system upgrades, integrations, or process improvements are successful. Recommends, implements, and plans for improvements, enhancements, and new applications to the system. Maintain strong SOX compliance and governance for the enterprise payroll system. Ensure payroll reporting needs are met. Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
NNS Apprentice School graduate Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience Nice to Have
