Aon South Africa is recruiting a Senior Client Manager in our Professional Risks department based, on a hybrid basis from our Head Office in Sandton. The role of a Senior Client Manager is to Manage and grow a portfolio of sophisticated Professional Indemnity accounts within the Built Environment and Engineering sector. Build trusted client relationships, provide specialist technical expertise, oversee binder and open market portfolios, and mentor junior colleagues while delivering exceptional client service and tailored risk solutions. What the day will look like Delivering on the agreed plan for the business unit/ area of specialty in line with the Aon SA strategy Leading, developing and improving the day to day client relationships. Responsible for a portfolio of client accounts and manages and co-ordinates all related activities including building a “client profile” of risks and needs analysis. Structures an insurance programme to meet these needs including presentations, producing client documentation, leading or contributing to renewal meetings. Responsible for portfolio credit control and retention. All administration relevant to allocated clients and portfolio/s. Where relevant manage a team and consolidating and reporting back to BU Head. Leading Insurer and client tender processes (where applicable) within the area of specialty. Maintaining and improving client satisfaction, retention, revenue and profitability including fee negotiation. Analysing and interpreting the markets/ relevant industries for competitive advantage and emerging opportunities. Compliant dealings with clients. Upholds development of retention and new business either with existing or new clients – spots opportunities for increasing revenue and follows up appropriately. Co-Ordinate team of Client Service Advisors to ensure client service standards are met and binder mandates are upheld. Managing financials, unpaids and age-analysis reporting for a portfolio of clients and/ or for area of specialty. All technical advice and/ or related training within the area of specialty. Resolving any escalated client queries. Required to work independently with general instruction and the ability to prioritise and organise work. Skills and experience that will lead to success Qualifications A minimum of Higher Certificate in Insurance Studies A Bachelor’s degree / working toward Bachelor’s degree advantageous Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act Minimum registered as an associate with the IISA Knowledge Excellent knowledge of Liability policy wordings, with preference to Professional Indemnity. A base competency on other financial lines such as cyber and directors and officers liability insurance advantageous An extensive knowledge of the South African and international financial lines short-term insurance markets. An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals. Digital literacy with advanced know-how in MS Word and Excel and Powerpoint. Understanding of risk management methodologies. A solid understanding of binders. Excellent client relationship communication skills. Good knowledge of the legislative framework governing the industry. Have knowledge of underwriting
