Job Description
Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Mentors junior employees. National General is seeking a Attorney Represented Commercial Casualty Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex specialty claims involving commercial casualty losses. This role is responsible for determining coverage, assessing liability and damages, conducting detailed investigations, and negotiating claim settlements within authority limits. The position primarily supports claims in states west of the Mississippi River , although assignments may originate from any of the contiguous 48 states. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling commercial casualty claims, attorney-represented files, and/or auto bodily injury claims , with the ability to manage complex exposures, collaborate with internal and external partners, and deliver exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.

Commercial Casualty claims handling Attorney-represented bodily injury claims Auto liability and injury claim investigations Complex coverage, liability, and damage assessments Negotiation and settlement of moderate to complex injury claims Subrogation and fraud identification experience preferred Key Responsibilities • Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases • Applies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department • Handles investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authority • For claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims • Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damage • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills Supervisory Responsibilities • This job does not have supervisory duties. As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
