ABOUT THE TEAM Anduril’s Rocket Motor Systems team is seeking a Manager, Automation Engineering to join our team. The Rocket Motor Systems team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high rate production of Solid Rocket Motors at our plant in McHenry, MS. In this role, you will lead the Controls Engineering team and own the automation and controls project portfolio for the facility. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead, grow, and develop the Controls Engineering team supporting Solid Rocket Motor production in McHenry, MS, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management Plan, budget, and track capital and continuous improvement projects for automation and controls at the facility Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure controls scope, schedule, and staffing are represented on all facility projects Own and enforce internal standards for control system architecture, documentation, and regulatory compliance across the facility Oversee functional safety projects including risk assessments, safety system design reviews, and safety buyoffs for production equipment Provide visibility to HQ on controls project status, schedule risk, and plant events that impact automation Direct root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation downtime, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering 8+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment Working knowledge of Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text) Experience owning scope, budget, and schedule for capital and continuous improvement projects Experience with performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design Experience integrating with SCADA and OT Networking Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
12+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment 2+ years of experience managing engineers, technicians, or integrators TUV FS Engineer certification (Functional Safety of Machinery) Experience building a controls organization in a new or ramping production facility Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and safety committees US Salary Range $126,000 - $167,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
