We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions About the Role We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our legal team to support our U.S. and international Defense business vertical. This is a uniquely strategic role with a mix of both internal and external-facing responsibilities in an area of increasing importance and growth for Applied Intuition. In short, this role will make an impact. You will partner cross-functionally across product, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing. You will also have opportunities to expand your role as part of a legal team in a high growth start up. The role will require a high degree of self-sufficiency but also someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team dedicated to providing top legal service to our internal clients. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and be comfortable working in ambiguity. At Applied, you will: Support the review and negotiation of a variety of prime contracts, subcontracts, strategic partnership agreements, and supplier agreements, including traditional FAR-based contracts, OTAs, software licensing agreements, and teaming agreements. Interpret and explain solicitation and contract requirements that apply to government contractors (including cybersecurity and export control compliance) and company stakeholders. Review and negotiate vendor and supplier agreements for software, hardware, and services sourced from third parties. Support Defense verticals’ international growth by analyzing foreign government bid and contract requirements. Develop and assist in the implementation of scalable and sustainable legal operations processes, programs and tools to support the legal team’s effective and efficient delivery of services for the government and defense team. Lead various compliance activities, reporting requirements, and internal investigations as required. Assist in drafting company policies and prepare employee government contracts and compliance training. Proactively manage other duties that may arise as part of a legal team in a high growth start-up. We’re looking for someone who has: Experience with a diverse range of U.S. Government contract types (e.g., FFP, T&M, CPFF) and contract vehicles (e.g., FAR-based contracts, Other Transaction Authority (OTA), subcontracts, software licenses) In depth knowledge and practical experience advising clients on government procurement laws and processes, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition
