Summary:   This position includes, but is not limited to, the setup, tear-down, and cleaning of the slicer operator machine in the Deli Packaging area.

Document slicing characteristics, downtime, process checks, and quality checks.    Set up, tear down, load and operate the slicers while maximizing speed, slicing yield, and the percent of acceptable drafts being sliced.    Perform operator care procedures to keep the slicer running.  Change and trim the slicer orifice, routine cleaning of the slicer and blade, change blades, and perform slicer washdowns, and other related tasks.    Reweigh rejected drafts and work them back into the line keeping giveaway to a minimum.    Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.:  addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).  Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.  Ability and willingness to scan or input into the computer system all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including change overs.  Ability and willingness to follow formulations on computer and accurate record and report food safety or product information.  Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.  Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.   Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.  Perform any other work as assigned by management.

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.   Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level 20 pounds or greater frequently.  Ability and willingness to lift/lower/carry 20 pounds or greater with back and legs.  Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.   Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.  Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.  Ability and willingness to work with product that is less than 32 degrees.  Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.    LOCATION IS NOT ACCEPTING REHIRES    Relocation Assistance Eligible: No Work Shift: 2ND SHIFT (United States of America) Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.
