What You Will Do
Pratt and Whitney ACT, a business unit within the Hot Section Module Center (HSMC), is seeking a highly talented and motivated Operations manager to lead the Operations team, as well as maintaining high levels of employee engagement across the organization. The candidate selected for this role will provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building. You will be able to communicate effectively and have strong strategic leadership and business acumen. You will excel in forward thinking and ensure the business is customer focused, enabling it to meet the demands of a difficult manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Management of 10 salary supervisors, and approximately 170 hourly production workers across multiple shifts and to develop the manufacturing processes, procedures and training to ensure operational performance targets are achieved. Responsible for successful production, scheduling and quality performance of skilled manufacturing operations of thermal barrier coatings. Accurately plan and allocate resources, materials and scheduling of equipment for maximum utilization of production facility and personnel. Establish the physical layout of machinery and creating the most efficient sequence of operation and flow. Accountable for budget, staffing, business and operational results with a customer interface and focus to achieve on time delivery and highest quality, while complying with and fully supporting EH&S policies by continually enhancing safety throughout facility. Ensure proper training for all production personnel and actively promote ethics-based business culture throughout facility. Actively contribute as part of the leadership team for the site to support growth and lead the direction of overall business. Lead active daily use of CORE as our operating system to deliver the benefits to customers and employees. Foster open communication and fully support RTX compliance. Delegate effectively to develop personnel and balance the workload Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance for subordinates. Give constant feedback on performance to those standards. Effectively coach employees to improve performance when needed. Effectively communicate with other personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Communicate to peers the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow. Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities Position will require limited travel- up to 10% travel Qualifications You Must Have: A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, OR an Advanced degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience Minimum of 8 years of prior
