Job Summary
As a Vice President in Investment Middle Office Services (IMOS), you oversee the complete lifecycle of securities trades from capture and confirmation through settlement and fail management. You lead a team delivering accurate, timely processing while managing operational risk, controls, and stakeholder expectations. You drive automation and productivity improvements, ensuring robust EOD/intraday governance and readiness for change (new products, systems, and market nuances).
Job Responsibilities
Lead the securities processing team to deliver accurate trade capture, validation, confirmation, and settlement. Oversee daily trade capture and confirmation workflows, ensuring timely, correct counterparty/client communication. Supervise settlement execution aligned to market nuances, cut-offs, and settlement cycles. Monitor fail trades, investigate root causes, resolve breaks, and implement preventive actions. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. Manage escalations and partner with global teams to drive swift resolution and clear accountability. Identify operational risks and strengthen controls across end-to-end trade processing. Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives to improve throughput and quality. Report processing metrics, exceptions, and KPIs, highlighting trends and control breaks. Support new product launches and system enhancements impacting trade processing. Develop team capability through coaching, backups/resiliency planning, and procedure documentation governance. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills Demonstrate extensive experience in securities trade processing or adjacent post-trade operations with leadership exposure. Apply strong understanding of securities products, settlement cycles, and market infrastructure (e.g., SWIFT, CLS concepts). Deliver consistent accuracy and attention to detail in cut-off driven, high-pressure environments. Lead teams effectively with a control-first mindset and strong ownership of deliverables. Collaborate seamlessly with global stakeholders across time zones and functions. Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with clients, counterparties, and internal partners. Prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines while maintaining operational discipline. Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills Hold a Master’s degree in Business or a related field. Drive automation and workflow simplification using Lean/process re-engineering approaches. Demonstrate deep expertise in fails management, settlements, and post-trade risk/control frameworks. Partner effectively with technology and change teams on system enhancements and operating model improvements. Build strong stakeholder networks across front office, middle office, operations, and external agents/custodians. Establish robust EOD/intraday reporting governance and monitoring routines. Create strong team resiliency through succession planning, cross-training, and capacity management.
