About this role
Coordinates and supervises both employee and contractor activities related to damage prevention and right-of-way maintenance for Atlanta Gas Light and Florida City Gas to ensure compliance with applicable local, Federal, State and Company regulations, policies and procedures. Supports the Manager, Asset Protection by helping to provide corporate oversight, standardization, and management for the responsibilities of the Asset Protection team. FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE:
Oversees, monitors and assists on all Asset Protection responsibilities, to include but not limited to right-of-way patrols, right-of-way quality audits and locator quality audits, etc. to ensure they are performed with quality, within compliance and that records are accurate. Assist in the development and improvement of MSA’s and SOW’s for contractors working with the Asset Protection department. Respond to inquiries from all stakeholders including state regulators, excavators and/or homeowners on damage prevention topics. Facilitate meetings related to Asset Protection contracts and projects prior to their beginning. Negotiate and propose alternatives to field conflicts. Provide accurate data and information for and during contested incident reviews and damage prevention cases. Coordinate construction and excavation activities on and adjacent to pipeline rights-of-way. Attend large project pre-construction meetings and monitor progress to protect assets. Conduct performance and safety audits. Perform initial investigations related to MVAs and OJIs related to Department. Coordinate Asset Protection new technology testing and implementation. Serves on special projects, as requested.
ENGAGEMENT
Provide supervision and oversight of processes, provide coaching, establish goals and objectives, training and support to the Asset Protection department employees. Improves and recommends techniques and processes for Asset Protection Specialists and Right-of-Way agents, trains new processes. Monitor monthly compliance and statistical reports to ensure adherence to performance measurements (i.e. aerial patrol, on-time performance and damage ratios, etc.). Reviews quality issues with Manager, Asset Protection to identify and implement strategies to prevent damages and improve quality and accuracy of locates for Asset Protection responsibilities. Monitor and follow-up on high profile facilities notifications. Conducts damage prevention education sessions with locate contractors, excavators, landowners and homeowners regarding damage prevention and protecting assets. Coordinate training compliance – OQ, OSHA, PSC, DOT and Company Policy for Asset Protection employees. Conducts audits, reviews and tests to ensure compliance on AGL Operation Procedure Manual and Step Procedures. Represent company at Advisory and association Committee meetings. Coordinate responses to issues related to right-of-ways.
DRIVING RESULTS
Drives damage prevention and right-of-way improvements including but not limited to potential damages and erosion issues. Oversees, monitors, and conducts meetings and training presentations with excavation contractors, realtors, landowners and company personnel to build awareness concerning pipeline safety rules, regulations and best practices with regards to protecting Company assets and land rights concerning SCG facilities, matters of best practices and designs. Monitor safety initiatives such as drive cam and coach employees to ensure company policies are adhered too. Guides and coaches’ team to achieve corporate goals and performance objectives. Demonstrate and support all safety initiatives. Recommend process improvements. Audit and improve damage reporting for accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
