About the Opportunity This is for an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. Delivery Driver performs duties required in connection with the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle used to transport material and equipment between storeroom and supply points; completes work in connection with the receiving, storing, issuing, inventorying, crediting, and shipping of stores materials and supplies; effectively assists higher rated employees in the performance of such duties; instructs and effectively directs other employees in the performance of any duties for which qualified; performs work of a lower classification; and performs other work as assigned. The reporting location for this onsite position will be our FirstEnergy Service location in Connellsville, PA. Responsibilities include: Under general supervision operates all Company vehicles for the primary purpose of transporting materials and supplies interstate and intrastate. Loads and unloads vehicles utilizing equipment as required. Responsible for maintaining all paperwork associated with this position. Performs other related and lesser skilled work as required. Qualifications include: Must be at least a high school graduate or possess the GED equivalency. Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License-Class A with 5 years tractor trailer experience and be able to safely operate motor vehicles. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge as it applies to the operation of trailer trucks on public highways of Motor Vehicle Codes in states the company serves. Must have experience operating a manual transmission. Must possess physical skills required to maneuver trailer trucks in difficult locations, both forward and backward, and be able to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons. Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents. Must possess a good knowledge of locations and road conditions in the area. Must pass motor vehicle operator tests prescribed by the Company and must possess a valid State of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Motor Vehicles Operator’s Permit, and a valid Company Motor Vehicle Operator’s Permit. Strength and dexterity adequate to safely perform all the duties of this classification. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must satisfy the requirements of the EEI Support and Administrative Selective System (SASS) test. EEI Testing We administer selection tests for a variety of positions.
