Job Description
AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Interior Designer for immediate employment in our Roanoke, VA office. Our B+P Roanoke studio provides industry-leading design projects in government, healthcare, and higher education markets. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: Lead client visioning and engagement; provide thought leadership and design thinking; mentor and coach staff for growth. Lead the full design lifecycle from visioning and programming through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. Produce interior design and construction documents that meet applicable codes, standards, and discipline design criteria; with minimal oversight develop complex drawing packages as required. Communicate project information consistently and on time to clients, partners, and internal teams Review vendor and supplier documents across disciplines for accuracy; resolve discrepancies and coordinate updates. Provide technical guidance to Designers and Technicians; instruct team members on standards, equipment, and material requirements. Report assignment status (schedule, budget, risks) to the Interior Design Leader and escalate issues promptly. Assist with planning and scheduling of design tasks and dependencies across disciplines. Interpret and apply industry codes, permits, and standards to ensure design and drawing compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Interior Design or Architecture and 6 years of related interior design experience in commercial and government interior construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
