This role provides technical leadership for electrical systems including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, ATS/STS equipment, power monitoring systems, and associated distribution networks. The Lead Electrician directs electrical maintenance activities, ensures compliance with safety standards, and supports continuous uptime objectives while mentoring and developing technical team members.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Systems Operations Lead the operation and maintenance of critical electrical infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations. Monitor and maintain medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems. Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical equipment and distribution networks. Ensure reliability and availability of UPS systems, battery systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, ATSs, and power distribution equipment. Review electrical system performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements. Leadership & Team Development Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to electricians and facility technicians. Coordinate maintenance schedules and oversee completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Mentor team members and ensure adherence to operational procedures and best practices. Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance development of electrical personnel. Safety & Compliance Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, and company safety standards. Lead Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety programs. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs . Critical Environment Management Support continuous operation of mission-critical infrastructure with a focus on zero unplanned downtime. Lead electrical switching operations and support planned maintenance activities. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and engineering teams during maintenance and project activities. Projects & Continuous Improvement Support capital improvement projects and infrastructure upgrades. Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical documentation. Assist with commissioning, startup, and turnover of new equipment. Drive energy efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent trade certification. 7+ years of experience maintaining commercial, industrial, or critical facility electrical systems. Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems up to medium voltage. Experience with UPS systems, emergency generators, switchgear, ATS equipment, and power monitoring systems. Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA regulations, and electrical safe work practices. Experience leading maintenance teams in a critical operations environment. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical manuals. Preferred Experience in Data Centers, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical
