Role
Overview: Build the digital messaging services that enable organizations to connect with customers across modern communication channels in Genesys Cloud. As a Software Engineer on the Digital Messaging Platform team, you will design and evolve cloud-native services that support reliable message routing, delivery, tracking, and analytics across high-volume customer interactions. You will own meaningful components of the messaging platform, contribute to architectural decisions, and help strengthen availability, scalability, security, and operational resilience. Your work will include integrations with social and digital channels such as Meta, X, SMS, WhatsApp, and LINE, while using technologies including Node.js, TypeScript, Java, AWS, and distributed microservices. You will collaborate with engineers across distributed teams, participate in technical design and code reviews, and influence how messaging capabilities evolve as customer needs and platform scale grow. Key Responsibilities
Design and evolve scalable message processing services that improve the reliability, availability, and performance of the Genesys Cloud digital messaging platform Develop capabilities for message routing, delivery, tracking, and analytics that support consistent customer interactions across digital channels Build and maintain integrations with social networks and digital communication channels, including Meta, X, SMS, WhatsApp, and LINE Drive improvements to fault tolerance, scalability, security, and operational resilience across distributed cloud services Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design reviews that shape the long-term evolution of the messaging platform Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing that strengthens service quality and deployment confidence Improve service reliability through monitoring, observability, incident response, and participation in the engineering on-call rotation Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to deliver maintainable solutions and continuously improve development practices Required Qualifications: 3+ years of software engineering experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and Java Experience designing or developing distributed systems and microservice architectures Proven track record of building fault-tolerant and highly available systems Proficiency in designing, integrating, or working with REST APIs Experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS) Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities for diagnosing complex technical issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across distributed teams Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering environment Working knowledge of Git and software development version control practices
