About this role
Your Team
Responsibilities The Atlassian Platform team owns the governance, configuration, and continuous improvement of MSCI’s Atlassian Cloud environment — Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, and Rovo — which serves as the operational backbone for approximately two-thirds of MSCI’s global workforce. We keep the platform reliable, well-governed, and strategically aligned with how MSCI works. Beyond keeping the lights on, we are the internal centre of expertise for what the Atlassian platform can do — including its rapidly expanding AI capabilities — and how to use those capabilities in ways that are practical, cost-justified, and genuinely useful to the teams that depend on us. We are establishing a presence in Mumbai to extend our operational coverage into the APAC timezone and build a trusted platform relationship with MSCI’s India-based stakeholder community. This role is that presence. You will enter through deep operational immersion — learning how a regulated financial technology firm uses Atlassian at enterprise scale — and grow into a broader mandate as you demonstrate the judgment and organizational fluency to advise internal teams on how to solve their real problems using the platform, including where AI fits and where it does not. Your Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary APAC point of contact for the Atlassian Platform Support queue: triaging and resolving platform requests covering Jira project setup, Confluence space configuration, API token provisioning and renewal, board configuration, permission management, and user access — handling these with both technical accuracy and clear stakeholder communication. Manage Atlassian REST API tokens and service account credentials for teams integrating Jira and Confluence into automation pipelines, reporting tools, and AI agents — including provisioning, expiry monitoring, rotation, and advising requestors on appropriate access scoping. Execute platform administration and KTLO activities: Jira and Confluence configuration maintenance, sandbox environment lifecycle management, licensing inventory support, and governance documentation — building operational depth that becomes the foundation for everything else. Advise internal stakeholder teams on how to solve workflow and collaboration problems within the Atlassian platform, distinguishing between requests that need configuration work, requests that could benefit from AI-assisted automation, and requests where the right answer is a simpler process rather than a new tool. Evaluate AI use cases within the Atlassian ecosystem — Rovo agents, AI-assisted automation rules, Confluence AI features — with a practical lens: does this use case justify its token cost, does it solve a real process problem, and is it sustainable at scale? MSCI’s Procurement function monitors AI spend, and your advisory work directly informs those cost decisions. Build and maintain documentation in Confluence for platform standards, support procedures, and recurring processes — progressively converting tribal knowledge into institutional knowledge accessible to the teams that need it. Develop working relationships with MSCI’s internal stakeholder functions — InfoSec, IT Risk, Privacy, Compliance, PMO, Product, and Finance — learning their constraints, building credibility, and becoming the person those teams trust to engage when they have a platform or AI tooling question. Participate in Atlassian Platform Roadmap sprint ceremonies with the Monterrey (Mexico) team, contributing operational insight from the APAC support queue to inform platform roadmap prioritization and governance decisions. Your Growth Path This role is support-first by design, not by limitation. The Atlassian platform at MSCI is complex, highly governed, and deeply embedded in how the firm operates . Understanding it well enough to give good advice takes time and direct exposure — and
