WHAT YOU WILL DO: A Machine Operator is responsible for completing a variety of trimming or assembly tasks, operating machines and hand tools. The Machine Operator is accountable for ensuring consistent, high quality completion of the varying tasks. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Adhere to allocations set out by Production Supervisor Communicate with previous shift Machine Operators to ensure continuity of tasks, process and schedule Daily operation of tools and machines as required Manually trim shower bases and walls to specifications Apply adhesive to tub shells as required by specification Sand, drill and level bases or tubs as required Perform quality inspections and complete work orders and sign Transport products from floor to trim table and packing station Ensures machinery is operated in a safe and efficient manner Work rotating afternoon shift Other duties as required HEALTH & SAFETY: Maintain a safe workplace Wear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor Comply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act) Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate) Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor Maintain a clean working environment Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirements Annual medical surveillance may be required QUALITY: Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered to Report any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept, Lead Hand and your Supervisor Follow the control of non-conforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area 5S: Ensure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standards Correct any deviations from 5S standards immediately QUALIFICATION: Ability to follow work instructions Ability to pull, push (25 lbs), bend and lift (up to 25 lbs) Ability to safely operate a variety of handheld tools Ability to stand up to 10 hours Ability to grasp components Ability to comprehend the English language Ability to work well in a team environment EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: O.S.S.D or equivalent Successful completion of all tests related to the position WHY JOIN MASCO CANADA?
