Job: Electronic Engineer Location: Jena, Germany (In Office) Electronic Board Designer Join our dedicated R&D team in Jena and play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge electronic systems to life. You will take full ownership of custom hardware development from initial concept through to physical testing, creating high-impact solutions that directly power Trimble's world-class technology ecosystem. What Makes This Role Great: In this role, you will lead the end-to-end development of custom electronic boards within an agile, specialized R&D environment. You will have full ownership of your designs, collaborating with international engineering teams across Europe to turn ambitious product requirements into high-performance physical hardware. Key Exciting Responsibilities: Design, architect, and deliver custom electronic boards on your own initiative, from initial system requirements to board-level implementation. Own the hands-on bring-up, functional validation, and troubleshooting of prototype boards fresh from external fabrication partners. Drive ongoing product reliability by identifying and executing smart component re-designs and addressing hardware end-of-life updates. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary global R&D teams to integrate hardware into complex finished products. Essential Skills & Experience: Background in Electronics Engineering or a closely related technical field. Proven experience in independent electronic board design and system-level electronic development. Functional working proficiency in English, alongside professional or learning-level German skills (B1/B2 minimum). Hands-on motivation to test, troubleshoot, and validate physical hardware in a lab environment. Bonus Points For: Experience working with ARM processor architectures or FPGA design. Previous experience in a dedicated hardware R&D facility.
