Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Electrical Systems Manager to join our team. This hybrid position is based at our Burlington, ON head office and offers benefits from day one. The expected annual salary range for this role is $125000 - $156000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: This role will provide as technical leadership and ensure the functional excellence, engineering quality, and technical integrity of new product development, product sustainment, and technology initiatives for Eaton Canada's low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution portfolio. You will serve as the technical authority for low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems and equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), panelboards, residential distribution products, circuit breakers, grounding systems, arc flash mitigation solutions, and DC power systems. Lead product development, validation, testing, certification, and lifecycle support activities while ensuring compliance with applicable CSA, UL, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, FM, and Eaton requirements. Lead engineering laboratory operations, laboratory personnel, testing capabilities, and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems while supporting product certification, compliance, and validation activities across the Electrical Sector portfolio. Provide technical guidance across engineering, manufacturing, quality, product management, certification agencies, and customers to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and commercially successful products. Essential Functions: • Serve as the technical authority and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution products and systems. • Provide technical leadership for product development, product sustainment, engineering investigations, and complex problem resolution. • Develop technical strategies, roadmaps, validation plans, and certification approaches that support business objectives and product portfolio growth. • Define product requirements and provide guidance on the interpretation and application of CSA, UL, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, and FM standards. • Lead product validation activities, including functional, qualification, reliability, short-circuit, temperature-rise, dielectric, arc flash, and standards compliance testing. • Oversee engineering laboratory operations, testing capabilities, laboratory quality systems, safety programmes, calibration processes, and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance requirements. • Partner with Product Certification and Compliance teams, certification agencies, and external laboratories to support product approvals, standards interpretation, and regulatory compliance activities. • Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions related to product performance, quality, reliability, safety, and compliance. • Lead technical evaluations, feasibility studies, and technology assessments to support product innovation and business growth. • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineers, technologists, and laboratory personnel while promoting engineering excellence and best practices. • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, marketing, service, suppliers, and product management teams to support product introduction, certification, and lifecycle management. • Monitor industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to maintain product competitiveness, compliance, and technical leadership.
