The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As an USAC Filling & Chemical Services Senior Specialist , you will play a strategic individual contributor role within Procurement, supporting complex category spend across Filling and Chemical Services within Third Party Services. You will help shape sourcing strategy, lead supplier negotiations, drive cost and cash savings, and strengthen supply resilience across multiple 3M businesses and divisions. In this role, you will make an impact by: Leading category strategy and strategic procurement activities for Filling and Chemical Services within Third Party Services across USAC. Driving cost reduction, working capital improvement, supplier consolidation, and supply resilience initiatives that support global category and Procurement goals. Serving as a key procurement contact for assigned suppliers, supporting supplier selection, negotiation strategy, performance improvement, and long-term relationship development. Leading complex sourcing projects and negotiations involving business allocation, supplier management, dual sourcing, external supply options, and category strategy execution. Supporting successful new product introductions by aligning supplier capabilities, cost structures, timelines, and commercial requirements with business needs. Identifying and implementing practical, cost-effective solutions for complex supplier and supply chain challenges. Developing strong partnerships with internal stakeholders across Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Business/Division teams, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations. Analyzing procurement data, market dynamics, supplier performance, and cost drivers to identify opportunities that improve service, speed, cost, and overall value. Supporting and negotiating supplier agreements that may include formula-based pricing, Tier II transparency, feedstocks, indices, and other complex commercial models. Advancing procurement digitalization and process optimization by leveraging automation, data analytics, pricing tools, SAP, and AI-enabled 3M tools to improve sourcing efficiency, decision-making, and supplier performance. Acting as a subject matter resource for assigned categories or sub-commodities including Tier II, providing guidance to business partners and supporting alignment with sourcing best practices. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Business discipline (completed and verified prior to start) Ten (10) years of combined experience in manufacturing & supply chain, sourcing, procurement or engineering in a private, public, government, or military environment. Ten (10) years of combined experience supporting or leading supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and cost savings initiatives in a private, public, government, or military environment. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Experience in Procurement, especially with contract manufacturers, third-party manufacturers, chemical services, production sites, mining, or manufacturing environments. Experience supporting complex supplier relationships with a
