With our focus on four therapeutic areas –Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease– we reach millions of patients each year. Amgen is advancing a broad and deep pipeline of medicines to treat cancer, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, rare diseases, and obesity and obesity-related conditions. As a member of the Amgen team, you’ll help make a lasting impact on the lives of patients as we research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines to help people live longer, fuller happier lives. Our award-winning culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you have a passion for challenges and the opportunities that lay within them, you’ll thrive as part of the Amgen team. Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career. Associate Scientist - Technology-Enabled Experimental Inflammation Discovery What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will contribute to target discovery and generating mechanistic insight by designing and executing cellular and molecular experiments, analyzing and integrating experimental data, and translating findings into biological insights and clear decisions. The successful candidate will routinely use AI-enabled, computational, and advanced data-analysis tools to enhance knowledge, hypothesis generation, experimental design, data analysis/visualization, and scientific communication. Deep experimental capability remains foundational; harnessing novel harnessing novel technologies will multiply its impact.
Key Responsibilities

Experience with skin-derived tissues/cells and primary immune-cell culture; experience with keratinocytes and/or mast cells is a plus. Experience with multiparameter flow cytometry, quantitative imaging, assay automation, or high-content analysis is a plus. Experience with mouse models, particularly in inflammation or immunology, is a plus. Demonstrated interest or experience in applying AI-enabled scientific tools, coding or scripting, computational approaches, automation, or advanced data-analysis workflows to experimental research is highly desirable. Experimental rigor and reliability: Takes pride in generating decision-quality data, with strong attention to controls, documentation, data integrity, organization, and experimental planning. Reliably manages samples, cells, timelines, and parallel workflows and follows through on commitments. Scientific curiosity and problem solving: Seeks to understand the biology and mechanisms behind experimental observations. Approaches troubleshooting thoughtfully, challenges assumptions, and uses both experimental and computational evidence rather than simply executing protocols. Technology fluency, collaboration, and learning agility: Is collaborative, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn and apply new scientific, computational, and AI-enabled approaches. Adapts quickly, shares effective practices, and uses technology pragmatically to improve the quality, speed, and scale of research.
