Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Document Controller to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our documentation management system, ensuring that all project-related documents are accurately prepared, systematically organized, and easily accessible to team members. You'll work collaboratively across departments to maintain transparent, up-to-date, and traceable documentation that supports our operational excellence and project success. Prepare, copy, scan, and store documents in both physical and digital formats while maintaining accuracy and organization Review and edit technical documents, contracts, and project files to identify and correct errors, ensuring compliance with organizational standards Manage the flow of documentation throughout the organization, distributing project-related copies to internal teams and external stakeholders as needed Maintain comprehensive filing systems for both physical and digital records, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility Create and customize document templates and standardized formats for future use across projects Retrieve and provide files to employees and clients upon request, responding promptly to documentation needs Review and update technical documentation, including manuals, workflows, and procedural guides, to reflect current practices Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information, proprietary data, and terms of agreement Prepare ad-hoc reports on project documentation status and compliance as requested by management Demonstrate proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and document control software to streamline processes Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field Proven work experience of 5+ years as a Document Controller or in a similar document management role Advanced proficiency in English with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills Hands-on experience with MS Office suite and MS Excel for document creation and data management Working knowledge of Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and document control software Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documents and prioritize effectively Demonstrated ability to spot errors and maintain attention to detail in all documentation tasks Comprehensive understanding of document control functions and best practices within project-based environments Previous experience working as a Document Controller in engineering, environmental, construction, or related sectors Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate
