Calibration Technician II

Under direct supervision from Facilities Engineer/Supervisor, performs a variety of maintenance activities and assignments which include corrective and preventive maintenance at the campus. These tasks are directly related to the business and engineering Facilities department strategies on short and long term. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives What You’ll Do Equipment calibrations  Perform multi-discipline calibrations  Review documentation, checklists and manuals for accuracy and completeness  Read equipment manuals and independently learn equipment operation  Availability to travel by air to remote manufacturing sites to provide support or for NPIs  Research equipment specifications  Complete assigned projects  Attend training sessions and perform deploy the knowledge to calibration personnel after training Documentation  Identify safety issues related to calibration procedures  Write calibration procedures using word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software  Submit change orders Repair  Research repair situations and determine action steps  Perform troubleshooting  Use and order tools and specify and order parts with attention to safety precautions  Perform normal repairs and maintenance  Use calibration data base systems including: history tracking, recall and overdue reports Administrative  Support root cause analysis on Out-of-Tolerance equipment and assigned corrective actions as needed Technical Assistance  Provide formal training to equipment users and other metrology technicians  Research and answer user technical measurement questions  Perform On the job training for new hires  Provide process assistance and integration  Solve calibration/measurement problems  Perform technical orientation training for new hires Required Qualifications High School degree, Technical degree required: Eelectricity, mechanics, Chemistry, electronics, industrial engineering, electromechanical or other related technical fields. 6 months experience in manufacturing industry. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint). Intermediate Commands of English / Required Preferred Qualifications Experience in calibration and test methods on equipment and instrument calibration. Prior medical device experience. Training in Calibration (courses). Knowledge of ISO 17025. SHIFT: Comprimido de Día: Jueves a Sabado de 6:00am a 6:00pm y alternando miércoles a Sabado de 6:00am a 6:00pm. 100% on site.
