At Genesys, the Account Executive – Commercial is responsible for driving new business growth across the Commercial segment , with a specific focus on customers in Healthcare, Retail, E-commerce, Energy, and Utilities . This is a highly hunter-oriented sales role for someone who knows how to open new accounts, develop whitespace opportunities, build pipeline from the ground up, and convert customer business challenges into strategic technology conversations. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience selling B2B technology, SaaS, Cloud, CX, Contact Center, AI, CRM, or Enterprise Software solutions into one or more of the following industries: Healthcare, Retail & E-commerce, or Energy & Utilities. Relevant industry experience is a core requirement for the role, as the Account Executive will be expected to understand the business dynamics, customer priorities, operational challenges, buying centers, and transformation initiatives within these sectors. The Account Executive owns the commercial strategy across their territory and orchestrates Solution Consultants, Business Development Representatives, Partners, Customer Success, Professional Services, Marketing, and other specialists to create, advance, and close strategic customer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Hunting Own new logo acquisition and business development across an assigned Commercial territory. Proactively identify and penetrate target accounts within Healthcare, Retail, E-commerce, Energy, and Utilities. Build pipeline through strategic prospecting, outbound activity, account mapping, networking, partner engagement, events, referrals, and market intelligence. Develop new opportunities within greenfield and whitespace accounts. Identify relevant business and technology stakeholders across target organizations. Build multi-threaded relationships across customer experience, operations, digital, technology, IT, transformation, and executive leadership. Take ownership of opportunities from initial engagement through negotiation and close. Industry-Focused Selling Develop a strong understanding of the business priorities, operating models, customer experience challenges, and digital transformation agendas of organizations within the assigned industries. Translate industry-specific challenges into strategic customer conversations and commercial opportunities. Understand relevant buying centers, decision-making structures, and technology priorities within target accounts. Build credibility with executive stakeholders by connecting Genesys capabilities with meaningful industry and business outcomes. Use customer and industry insights to create differentiated account strategies and value propositions. Commercial Strategy & Territory Development Develop and execute territory and account plans focused on high-potential accounts within the target industries. Prioritize accounts based on revenue potential, whitespace, business triggers, customer needs, and strategic fit. Continuously identify new buying centers and expansion opportunities. Maintain sufficient pipeline coverage to consistently achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets. Use market intelligence and customer insights to refine territory strategy. Consultative & Value-Based Selling Lead discovery conversations to understand customer challenges, strategic initiatives, financial impact, decision criteria, and
