As a Debug & Repair Technician - PCBA , you are responsible for diagnosing and repairing defective printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) to restore full functionality. You use advanced troubleshooting techniques, test equipment, and rework tools to identify root causes and perform corrective actions. This role requires deep technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and a strong understanding of electronics. Prior experience in PCBA debugging and repair is essential. What you’ll do: Use appropriate test and measurement tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, programmers, thermal cameras, and debug software tools to identify component‑level and circuit‑level issues. Replace, rework, or re‑solder defective components using proper soldering, desoldering, hot‑air, and rework station techniques while protecting PCB integrity. Read and interpret schematics, layout drawings, BOMs, test reports, failure logs, and engineering instructions to guide repair activities. Document all repair actions clearly, including root cause findings, replaced components, and verification results, ensuring full traceability of each repaired unit. Support production lines by providing fast failure feedback, identifying patterns in recurring defects, and escalating systemic issues to Engineering and Quality. Work with Quality and manufacturing engineering to tackle Top 5 of Pareto defects on each SKUs. Secure, with quality team, Good and Bad golden samples status in production. Work closely with Manufacturing test engineering team, to secure failure detection and improve test robustness. Participate in technical root cause analysis (RCA) for repeated failures and assist in implementing corrective actions to reduce defect rates. Handle PCBs and components using proper ESD protection, moisture‑sensitive device handling, and clean‑area practices. Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD‑safe debug/repair workstation, ensuring proper storage and handling of tools and components. Verify repaired units through functional testing to ensure they meet product requirements before returning to production flow or outbound processes. Collaborate with Shift Leaders, Area Shift Leaders, Engineers, Quality, and Technicians to share failure insights, support fast problem resolution, and improve overall product reliability. Follow all safety, ESD, chemical, and handling requirements, ensuring tools and rework equipment are operated safely and correctly. Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering. 3+ years' of experience in PCBA debugging, fault analysis, and repair. Skills: Practical experience with diagnostic tools, repair and rework techniques. Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and PCBA layouts. Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment. Skilled in soldering, desoldering, and component-level rework. Ability to interpret schematics, test data, and engineering documentation. Knowledge of ESD safety procedures and IPC repair standards. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting
