Job Function: Legal & Compliance Job Sub Function: Law Business Partners Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Madrid, Spain Job Description: Legal Counsel Spain Legal support of MedTech businesses in Spain with the following tasks: Provide operational day-to-day legal support for Johnson & Johnson MedTech businesses in Spain in collaboration with the Legal Director Iberia MedTech. Review, draft and negotiate critical complex commercial agreements including, among others: distribution and agency agreements, as well as arrangements with private hospitals groups, insurance companies and public hospitals. Review and draft legal documentation, and support the standardization of department processes, procedures and guidelines, in collaboration with commercial operational and support teams, with a strong focus on enabling compliant business growth. Provide legal advice on public procurement laws and tenders to the tender team and the commercial organization in navigating regulatory requirements, bid strategy, contract execution and risk mitigation. Develop, implement and continuously improve legal templates and contracting frameworks ensuring consistency and efficiency across different business models and channels. Support the corporate governance and company secretarial function of the Spanish entities. Ensure appropriate training is provided to local teams on key legal topics, such as essentials of contract law, competition law, anticorruption laws, public procurement. Ensure monitoring and analysis of critical new legislation and regulations, particularly in healthcare, commercial law, competition law and compliance, and translate them into actionable guidance for the business. Promote and safeguard a strong culture of integrity, ethics and compliance, ensuring adherence to Johnson & Johnson standards, including FCPA and local anti-bribery laws, in all interactions with third parties and customers. Requirements : Spanish qualified lawyer, graduate from an accredited law school in Spain. Master of Laws from a top tier university is highly desired. Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish. At least 5-6 years of relevant legal experience since qualification in a leading law firm or in house department of a multinational. Broad-based commercial and corporate experience in Spain. Interest in medical field is essential. Experience in public procurement. Experience of drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex agreements. Demonstrates an understanding of AI concepts and frameworks, including awareness of responsible and ethical AI practices, and has experience generating effective prompts to boost efficiency and productivity. Skills : A team player and consensus builder who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with lawyers and business clients at all levels throughout the organization. Strong drive for results and a strong sense of ownership/ accountability.
