About the Role
We are seeking an organized, proactive and detail oriented shipping, receiving and inventory logistics specialists that will be a core operations employee serving an office that is dedicated to developing cutting edge hardware and software technologies.
Unlike traditional distribution centers, our facility handles high-mix, custom designed components, expensive test equipment, sensitive electronic components, and custom engineering prototypes. You will ensure fast intake, accurate cataloging, rapid internal delivery, and flawless logistics tracking to keep all stakeholders aware of goods movements.
Duties include preparing both outgoing and incoming shipments of parts, materials and supplies. The Logistics Specialist must make arrangements for all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring that outbound goods are properly packaged, and must track all shipments on a regular basis so that internal stakeholders maintain accurate expectations for deliveries. Prepares all required shipping documents and optimizes cost/quality/delivery through utilization of the best carriers. The Logistics Specialist confirms physical shipments are matching shipping documents including bills of lading, commercial invoices, purchase orders and other documents.
Manages the outbound and inbound of all products, materials, and supplies, including inventory and expensed materials
About the Work
• Inspect & Process Inbound Shipments: Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming daily freight and parcel shipments (FedEx, UPS, DHL, freight carriers) for damage and order accuracy.
• Fast-Track Delivery to Labs: Ensure components, raw materials, PCB assemblies, and custom parts are logged into our system and delivered directly to specific engineering labs or individual engineers in a timely manner.
• Capital Equipment Intake: Properly record and tag incoming high-value lab equipment, tooling, and test rigs for asset management.
• Tracks and receives non-inventory transactions including consumable materials, office supplies, I.T. equipment and other materials
• Collaborates and communicates with external parties, such as logistics providers and customer service representatives, to ensure success of shipping activities.
• Space Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized 60,000 sq. ft. receiving dock and central inventory room.
• Forklift & Pallet Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, stackers) to unload freight trucks.
• Waste & Recycling: Manage cardboard, crate disposal, and electronic scrap recycling programs across the facility.
• Partner with commercial team members by handling shipping logistics for major projects, key customer accounts and engagements such as demos or trade shows.
