We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Java Tech Lead - Cash Confirmations Lead to provide senior technology leadership for Morgan Stanley’s Cash Confirmations platforms, shaping the target-state architecture and operational resiliency of a globally critical trade confirmations ecosystem across asset classes, markets, and regulatory jurisdictions. This is a Lead Software Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs. What you’ll do in the role Contribute to target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps for confirmation platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and strategic technology objectives. Drive platform modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, event-driven architecture, distributed processing, and resiliency improvements. Serve as the subject matter expert for Cash confirmation workflows, including Trade confirmation generation, Exception processing, Client delivery channels, Regulatory and audit requirements, Integration with market infrastructure providers Partner with business and operations stakeholders to translate confirmation processing requirements into scalable technical solutions. Guide teams on non-functional requirements including Performance, Scalability Capacity management, Disaster recovery, Monitoring and observability, Production readiness Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments by providing architectural guidance, system documentation, and remediation plans. Provide leadership during critical production incidents and major platform transformation initiatives. What you’ll bring to the role: 10+ years of experience in enterprise software engineering and distributed systems, including 3-5 years in a senior technical leadership role. Bachelor's/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline. Proven experience designing and governing large-scale, low latency transaction processing platforms preferably within financial services. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting technology strategy to senior leadership. Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure production and delivery environments. Strong exposure to AI-assisted software development, engineering productivity tooling, and intelligent operational platforms. Ability to diagnose production issues, steer the team in high pressure time sensitive situations All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office. Knowledge of French and English is required.
